How Big Is a 4K LED Wall?

An LED screen wall has no fixed display resolution: its resolution is its size multiplied by its pixel density. Use the pixel density of each pitch to see how much wall a Full HD or 4K picture needs.

Worked out from the pixel densities in the brochure (display size × density = pixels). Walls are built from whole cabinets, so the SNL team will give the exact size for your wall. The brochure makes no 4K claim of its own.

Why Choose SNL LED Video Walls?

The Right Pitch for the Distance

Ten pixel pitches from P0.9 to P8, each with a recommended viewing distance, so a boardroom, an auditorium and a billboard each get a wall that stays sharp for the people looking at it.

Bright Enough for Daylight

Outdoor LED display walls are listed from 5,000 to 8,000 cd/m² with IP65 protection, and every pitch has a refresh rate of 3,840 to 7,680 Hz and a viewing angle of H ≥140° and V ≥120°.

Built to Run All Day

An LED life of ≥100,000 hours on every range, in die-cast or aluminium cabinets, with front or rear maintenance so a module can be reached where the wall is fitted.

One Brochure, Four Builds

Outdoor SMD, indoor SMD, COB and GOB, all specified in the same way so you can compare them side by side. Not sure which? Book a demo and the SNL team will help you choose.

Resolution You Can Plan

The pixel density of every pitch is published, so you can work out the display resolution of any wall size, Full HD or 4K, before you order. See the table above.

Indoor and Outdoor, One Source

An outdoor LED screen for the facade and an indoor LED screen wall for the lobby, auditorium or control room, from the same team and in the same specification format.

Specifications in the Open

Every figure on this page is from SNL’s own brochure, and where the brochure is silent (price, warranty, weight, controller) the page says so instead of guessing.

A large display built from LED modules or cabinets fitted edge to edge, so the picture is as big as the wall you build. SNL’s brochure lists the modules and cabinets (for example 320×160 mm and 250×250 mm modules) and the pixel pitch of each range.

The product name in SNL’s brochure. It covers four ranges: an outdoor SMD wall (P3, P4, P6, P8), an indoor SMD wall (P1.2 to P3), an indoor COB wall (P0.9, P1.2) and an indoor GOB wall (P1.2 to P2.5). The brochure does not define the word “active”, so this page does not either.

Four ranges, all on this page: Outdoor SMD, Indoor SMD, Indoor COB and Indoor GOB. Each has its own specification table above, with one column for every pixel pitch.

They are LED package types. The brochure lists SMD for the outdoor and indoor ranges, COB for the P0.9 and P1.2 indoor wall and GOB for the P1.2 to P2.5 indoor wall. It does not compare them, so get in touch with the SNL team if you need advice on which suits a room.

Start with where it will stand. Outdoors, choose the Outdoor SMD wall. Indoors, pick a pitch from the viewing distance: the finer the pitch, the closer people can stand. Book a demo or get in touch and the SNL team will help you choose.

The brochure’s applications cover retailers, shopping centres, roadside and building advertising, stadiums, campuses, offices, boardrooms, control rooms, broadcast and studios, auditoriums, classrooms, conference halls, stages and events.

No. An Interactive Flat Panel is a single touch display for teaching and meetings. An LED video wall is built up from modules to any size and is for large, bright, seamless pictures. The brochure lists no touch feature for the LED walls.

The distance between the centres of two neighbouring pixels, in millimetres. P2.5 means 2.5 mm. A smaller pitch packs more pixels into each square metre, so the picture stays sharp from closer up.

Outdoor: P3, P4, P6 and P8. Indoor SMD: P1.2, P1.5, P1.8, P2, P2.5 and P3. Indoor COB: P0.9 and P1.2. Indoor GOB: P1.2, P1.5, P1.8 and P2.5.

P0.9, in the Indoor COB range, with a pixel density of 1,234,568 px/m² and a recommended viewing distance of 0.9 to 3 m.

Use the recommended viewing distance in the table: it is the range from which the brochure suggests the wall be seen, for example 1.2 to 4 m for P1.2, 2.5 to 9 m for P2.5 and 12 to 40 m for P8. If the nearest viewer will stand 3 m away, a pitch with a distance range starting at or below 3 m suits.

P3: 4 to 15 m. P4: 5 to 20 m. P6: 8 to 30 m. P8: 12 to 40 m.

P1.2: 1.2 to 4 m. P1.5: 1.5 to 5 m. P1.8: 1.8 to 6 m. P2: 2 to 7 m. P2.5: 2.5 to 9 m. P3: 3 to 12 m.

It is listed in the specification table for each pitch, in pixels per square metre: from 1,234,568 for P0.9 down to 15,625 for P8.

Not necessarily. A finer pitch costs more pixels per metre and only helps people who stand close. For a facade or a billboard seen from 20 m, a wider pitch such as P6 or P8 is what the brochure recommends.

P3: 5,000 to 6,500 cd/m². P4: 5,500 to 7,000. P6: 6,000 to 8,000. P8: 6,500 to 8,000.

Indoor SMD ranges from 600 to 1,500 cd/m² (P3 from 800). Indoor COB is 600 to 1,000 cd/m². Indoor GOB is 600 to 1,500 cd/m², depending on the pitch.

3,840 to 7,680 Hz on every pitch in all four ranges.

H ≥140° and V ≥120° on every pitch, indoor and outdoor.

Outdoor P3 is listed as 1/8 or 1/16 and P8 as 1/4 or 1/8. Indoor SMD is 1/32 on the finer pitches and 1/16 or 1/32 on P2.5 and P3. COB is 1/32. GOB is 1/32 and 1/16 or 1/32 on P2.5. The brochure’s outdoor P4 and P6 entries are unreadable, so ask the SNL team for them.

It depends on the wall’s size and the pitch. The brochure gives the pixel density per square metre, not a resolution, so a wall’s pixel count is its area multiplied by the density. Tell the SNL team the size you need and they will work it out.

The brochure makes no 4K claim and lists no input resolution or control system. Tell the SNL team the picture you need to show and they will advise.

The table lists them for each pitch: 320×160 mm, 250×250 mm and 192×192 mm modules, and 500×500 mm and 960×960 mm outdoor cabinets.

Die-cast aluminium on outdoor P3 and P4 and on the finer indoor pitches, and an aluminium cabinet on the others. The table gives the type for each pitch.

On some pitches. Front maintenance is listed for indoor P1.2 SMD, all of COB, and indoor GOB P1.2; front or rear for outdoor P3 and P4 and most other indoor pitches. Outdoor P6 and P8 are serviced from the rear.

≥100,000 hours on every pitch in all four ranges.

Indoor ranges list 150 to 300 W/m² on average and up to 500 to 800 W/m² at most. Outdoor ranges list 200 to 350 W/m² on average and up to 700 to 900 W/m² at most.

Outdoor walls are listed at IP65. Indoor walls are listed at IP20, so they are for indoor use only.

The brochure gives neither. Ask the SNL team if you need to plan a structure or a mounting wall.

The brochure describes no mounting or structure. Get in touch with the SNL team and tell them the wall or frame you have in mind.

It depends on the wall’s size and its pixel pitch. A wall’s screen resolution is its area in square metres multiplied by the pixel density of the pitch you choose, and the brochure lists that density for every pitch (for example 160,000 px/m² for P2.5 and 694,444 px/m² for P1.2). The “How big is a 4K LED wall?” table above does the sum for Full HD and 4K.

4K (ultra high definition, UHD) is 3,840 × 2,160 pixels, which is 8,294,400 pixels. Worked out from the brochure’s pixel densities, that is about 51.8 m² at P2.5, 11.9 m² at P1.2 and 6.7 m² at P0.9, and about 74.6 m² at outdoor P3. Walls are built from whole cabinets, so the SNL team will give the exact size.

The brochure makes no 4K claim and lists no input resolution. A wall can show 4K quality when it has at least 8,294,400 pixels, which is a matter of size and pitch. Tell the SNL team the picture you need to show and they will advise.

Full HD is 1,920 × 1,080 pixels, which is 2,073,600 pixels. That is about 13 m² at P2.5, 3 m² at P1.2 and 1.7 m² at P0.9, worked out from the brochure’s pixel densities.

3,840 to 7,680 Hz on every pitch in all four ranges. The refresh rate is how many times a second the screen redraws the picture; a high one keeps the picture steady.

A wall is built from modules and cabinets (192×192, 250×250, 320×160, 500×500 and 960×960 mm are listed), so its size follows the area you need. The brochure lists no fixed wall sizes. Tell the SNL team the width and height you have.

The brochure lists no touch feature for the LED walls. For a touch screen display, see the Interactive Flat Panel page.

The brochure gives no contrast ratio. It lists brightness (600 to 1,500 cd/m² indoors, 5,000 to 8,000 cd/m² outdoors), the viewing angle and the refresh rate for every pitch.

The brochure lists no input ports, display cable or controller. Ask the SNL team what connects your source to the wall and what is supplied with it.

No. An LED video wall is built up from modules into a screen of any size, for large, bright pictures. A monitor or a single-screen sign is one display of a fixed size; for those, see Digital Signage.

The brochure lists outdoor advertising, campuses, retail, billboards, mall facades, roadside signage, building facades and stadiums.

Meeting rooms, command centres, broadcast, corporate spaces, retail, studios, auditoriums, education and classrooms, conferences, stages, events, signage, boardrooms, control rooms and premium lobbies.

Yes. The brochure lists education, classrooms, conferences, auditoriums and stages among the uses. For a wall in an assembly hall, see the indoor P2.5 and P3 SMD columns.

The brochure lists broadcast for indoor P1.2 (SMD, COB and GOB) and studio for indoor P1.5 SMD and GOB. To plan a full set, see Studio Setup.

Yes, the brochure lists digital signage among the indoor P2 applications. For a single screen, see Digital Signage.

The brochure lists control rooms for the P0.9 COB pitch and command centres for the P1.2 SMD, P1.2 COB and P1.2 GOB pitches.

Stages are listed for indoor SMD P1.8 and P2.5 and for indoor GOB P1.8 and P2.5. To pair it with a speaker’s station, see the Digital Podium.

This page shows no price or online cart. The price depends on the range, the pitch and the size of the wall. Book a demo or get in touch with the SNL team and tell them the size, the place and the viewing distance.

A wall is built from modules and cabinets, so its size depends on the module sizes in the table. The brochure lists no fixed wall sizes. Tell the SNL team what you need and they will advise.

The brochure lists no warranty period. Ask the SNL team to confirm it in writing for the range you order.

The brochure lists no controller, sending card or software. Ask the SNL team what is supplied with a wall.

The Refund & Return Policy describes SNL’s installation process for IFPs and AIO devices: fill in the form sent to your registered email, or call customer support. It does not name LED walls, so confirm with the team whether installation is included.

For most locations an order reaches you within 7 working days of dispatch. Remote, rural or high-security zones can take longer, and delivery dates cannot be guaranteed. The Refund & Return Policy gives no dispatch time for LED walls.

Refuse it if it looks damaged at delivery. All shipments are covered by transit insurance: report any damage with photos or videos while the package is opened and checked. Damage reported after installation is complete and the technician has left cannot be covered.

The Refund & Return Policy treats a confirmed order for SNL hardware as final and non-cancellable, and lists SNL IFPs and AIO devices as non-returnable once delivered. It does not name LED walls, so ask the SNL team how it applies before you order.

Book a demo and the SNL team will show you the product and discuss your requirement.

Repairs or replacements are arranged according to the situation. Refunds are not provided, but the service team works to keep disruption to a minimum. Get in touch with the SNL team to raise an issue.
